A Joyful Celebration of Love in Hialeah
Some weddings are so full of life and love that you find yourself smiling the entire time—and Esther and Elias's wedding was exactly that. Held at the charming Ensueño Banquet Hall in Hialeah, this March celebration was filled with heartfelt moments, vibrant Cuban culture, and an energy that kept the dance floor packed all night.
Love Across the Years
Esther and Elias are proof that love knows no age. As an older couple in their 60s, they brought an incredible sense of joy and vitality to their wedding day. From the emotional first look—where Elias was visible overcome with Joy seeing Esther in her wedding dress for the first time—to their lively dance moves at the reception, their love was an inspiration to everyone in attendance.
Their ceremony and reception were held at the same venue, creating an intimate seamless transition from exchanging vows to celebrating with family and friends. One touching moment was seeing Esther's son, Edgar, give her away during the ceremony. Edgar's fun-loving personality added so much to the day—whether he was dancing up a storm or pulling hilarious faces for my camera, he kept everyone entertained.
Cuban Charm and Festivities
Esther and Elias honored their Cuban heritage with special touches throughout the day, from the décor and music to the menu. Dinner included the most delicious vaca frita I've ever tasted, and I'm so glad they set aside a plate for me!
The reception was a lively affair with non-stop dancing, including a fun tradition where guests formed a circle and each took turns showing off their moves in the center. It was impossible not to get caught up in the energy of the room! One special moment during the reception came when the MC asked married couples to stand and gradually sit down based on how many years they'd been together. The longest marriage was an impressive 52 years, and the advice they shared with Esther and Elias was truly heartwarming.
Golden Hour Portraits at Amelia Earhart Park
Since the schedule for the day didn't allow much time for couple portraits, we planned ahead and captured their golden hour portraits the evening before at the picturesque Amelia Earhart Park. The warm, dreamy light perfectly complemented the love and joy Esther and Elias radiate, and these photos were such a meaningful addition to their day. They even had same-day prints of these portraits displayed as part of their reception centerpieces—a personal and creative touch that wowed their guests.
The Photographer's Perspective
Esther's gratitude was one of the highlights of the entire experience for me. She was so happy with the photos that she gave me a generous tip and said I had undercharged her—a kind gesture that meant the world to me. As a photographer, my goal is always to create memories that couples treasure for a lifetime, and hearing that feedback reminded me why I love what I do.
